Since its founding more than 50 years ago, the MetGCSA has recognized its role in local communities to promote responsible management of golf courses throughout the region. In continuing and expanding on this long-standing tradition, the organization has recently established a charitable foundation to achieve important objectives both on and off the course.

Foursomes 4 the Foundation currently represents approximately 30% of the annual revenue received by the MetGCSA Foundation. The use of these funds are purposed in accordance with the objective of the Foundation that is to promote research, shcolarships, education and advocacy for the benerit of MetGCSA members and their clubs. Supporting the MetGCSA Foundation is ultimately an investment in your Club's future.
One of the major initiative of the Foundation has been its support of the New York State Best Management Practices Study, in partnership with Cornell University and superintendent associations throughout the state. This ongoing effort has already produced important resources for industry professionals and regulators alike, and will be a critical project for the future:
Each year, the MetGCSA awards scholarships to family of members that meet criteria determined by the Scholarship Committee. Their goal is to award Scholarships based solely on the merits of the applicant’s ability to demonstrate their skills based on academic records, ambition, activities, appearance of application, and maturity. Each complete application goes through an extensive process to determine if he/she has met these requirements.
In addition to the initiatives listed on this page, the MetGCSA and its Foundation will help to fund and participate in many other projects, both large and small, throughout the Met area. We hope that you will join us in finding ways to create projects and programs that benefit our neighbors and encourage you to contact Mike McCall, Executive Director at 914-204-9136, with ideas to help develop this very important aspect of promoting the MetGCSA and its mission.
