Responsbilities:

To assist the property manager in completing all duties affiliated with the golf course maintenance facility and office administration. Although the primary responsibility will be to maintain a clean, well-organized, efficient office environment, the assistant facilities manager will be asked to participate in other areas of the golf course maintenance operation. Some areas of responsibility include; human resource management, record keeping, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, hiring, safety program, inventory, website entries, pricing, cleaning, etc.

Qualifications:

College degree preferred, but not mandatory. A positive, helpful demeaner with excellent communication skills are paramount for success in this position. Must be proficient in all types of computer applications including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. Must have excellent interpersonal and written skills and be able to multitask. Some familiarity with golf course maintenance is imperative and must be neat and orderly by nature.

Compensation:

The Tuxedo Club, founded in 1886, is a large, private club located 45 miles north of New York City in Tuxedo Park, New York. The maintenance department is expected to maintain an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones golf course, as well as a clubhouse campus that includes a boat house and a tennis house. The golf club shares, in rotation, the legendary 1894 matches with Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Newport Country Club, and the Country Club. In 2014, the Tuxedo Club will host these matches, as well as a Met Amateur Qualifier this golf season.

Responsbilities:

Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and other assistants in a team atmosphere. In-house projects will be the norm for the upcoming years. Bunker restoration, drainage, tee reconstruction, and possible installation of a new irrigation system will be experienced over the next 3-5 years at the Tuxedo Club. Other responsibilities include chemical and fertilizer applications, seasonal crew management, project supervision, hand watering, disease identification, budgeting, etc. Assistants will be expected to do whatever it takes to provide the best conditions possible.

Qualifications:

Must have 2 or 4 year degree in turfgrass management or horticulture. Must have completed at least one summer internship.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Two or four year turfgrass management (or related) degree. A strong candidate will have a track record of progressive management skills from their internship to present day, without gaps in employment. Must have a can do open mind and team oriented attitude. Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. An aspiration of promoting one’s career and becoming a golf course superintendent is required.

Compensation:

$40,000

Course Info:

The CC of Darien is a private 18-hole golf course located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The course is predominantly poa and bentgrass on tees, greens and fairways. Ongoing improvement programs include green construction, practice facility upgrade and increased water storage. It has a state of the art maintenance facility, and newly constructed staff  housing.

Responsbilities:

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in all facets of course and grounds management. Responsibilities include coordination of day to day activities, scheduling, and irrigation, cultural and chemical applications.

Qualifications:

2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management and multiple years experience working on a golf course. Candidates must have or be in the process of obtaining a CT State Pesticide License. Golfer and technology savvy individual is preferred.

Compensation:

$45,000-$48,000
Housing, meals, vacation, personal and sick days, health insurance, pension plan
and bonus.
