Westchester Country Club is a 45-hole private country club designed by Walter Travis, located approximately 20 miles north of New York City and opened in 1922. Westchester has hosted over 40 PGA Tour events in its long history and will host a Major LPGA event in June of 2015. The LPGA and the PGA of America will work together for the first time to host the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship next year on the West Course. Westchester features two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 9 hole par 3 executive course, 8 story hotel, grass and har-tru tennis courts, paddle and squash courts, driving range, teaching studio, maintains 7 miles of residential roads around club, and a 67 acre beach club on the Long Island Sound. Westchester has recently hired the Fazio Design Group to complete a Master Plan for the entire golfing property. The first phase of the project to rebuild the West Course tees is complete. Assistants will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in the construction and planning for continued work on the Master Plan. Assistants will have a strong opportunity for career advancement within the company and will report directly to the course Superintendent.

To assist the property manager in completing all duties affiliated with the golf course maintenance facility and office administration. Although the primary responsibility will be to maintain a clean, well-organized, efficient office environment, the assistant facilities manager will be asked to participate in other areas of the golf course maintenance operation. Some areas of responsibility include; human resource management, record keeping, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, hiring, safety program, inventory, website entries, pricing, cleaning, etc.

Qualifications:

College degree preferred, but not mandatory. A positive, helpful demeaner with excellent communication skills are paramount for success in this position. Must be proficient in all types of computer applications including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. Must have excellent interpersonal and written skills and be able to multitask. Some familiarity with golf course maintenance is imperative and must be neat and orderly by nature.

The Tuxedo Club, founded in 1886, is a large, private club located 45 miles north of New York City in Tuxedo Park, New York. The maintenance department is expected to maintain an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones golf course, as well as a clubhouse campus that includes a boat house and a tennis house. The golf club shares, in rotation, the legendary 1894 matches with Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Newport Country Club, and the Country Club. In 2014, the Tuxedo Club will host these matches, as well as a Met Amateur Qualifier this golf season.

Responsbilities:

Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and other assistants in a team atmosphere. In-house projects will be the norm for the upcoming years. Bunker restoration, drainage, tee reconstruction, and possible installation of a new irrigation system will be experienced over the next 3-5 years at the Tuxedo Club. Other responsibilities include chemical and fertilizer applications, seasonal crew management, project supervision, hand watering, disease identification, budgeting, etc. Assistants will be expected to do whatever it takes to provide the best conditions possible.

Responsbilities:

Qualifications:

Responsbilities:

The successful candidate will also be responsible for pesticide and fertilizer applications, irrigation system scheduling and maintenance, small construction projects, snow removal, and Audubon program participation.

Qualifications:

All candidates should have a turf or related degree, and at least three years’ experience working on a golf course as an intern and/or second assistant. They must also have or be able to obtain a CT pesticide applicators license.

Century Country Club is a 1924, H.S. Colt & C.H. Alison designed private club approximately 25 minutes north of New York City. The renovation of all tee complexes was completed in the fall of 2012. Century hosts the annual U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier, as well as other local and regional events.

Responsbilities:

This position reports to the Superintendent and Senior Assistant and is responsible for crew leadership, hand watering greens, pesticide and fertilizer applications, and the calibration of this equipment along with record keeping. Irrigation troubleshooting/repair, drainage installation/repairs, shop organization along with general maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

2 or 4 year degree or certification in Turf Management or related field. Applicants should have 2-3 years experience working on a golf course (internships, spray tech, irrigation tech). The Second Assistant position will be filled by a highly motivated individual with proficient communication skills that is organized, has a strong attention to detail and a keen sense of their surroundings. The applicant must be eager to learn and gain knowledge about maintaining high quality turf, on and off the golf course. We are looking for an individual with the long term goal of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent.
